The petTracer collar typically has a range of about 0.5 miles, depending on your surroundings. Most cats stay well within this distance, and those that don’t come home are often not far away, usually trapped nearby.
If your cat goes out of range, don’t worry. The collar will continue recording GPS positions even when it’s out of coverage. Once your cat comes back within range, the map will automatically update with its full route.
In an emergency, you can also make the HomeStation mobile. Just connect it to your phone’s hotspot and plug it into a power bank. This lets you extend the range so you can track your cat again and even locate your cat inside buildings.
